Be A Content Creator
We all know this new era of content creation is on the rise. And I know many of us, including myself, have wanted to be part of that train. However, I have found myself struggling, not knowing where to start. So, I have given myself three months to try and create a platform for myself. Follow along!
Your Platform
So, where do you want to go viral? Haha just kidding (or am I?). My toughest decision was figuring out what platform I wanted to start creating content on, but I concluded that TikTok would help me grow my platform more consistently. TikTok is a very successful app, with a quick adaptable algorithm, based on watch time, likes, comments, shares, and even video replays. Since TikTok recommends videos based on what you engage with, it keeps niche content more consistent across the app compared to other apps that randomly mix content. Since my main objective is to create a platform for myself as a content creator I think TikTok has all the right tools to help me climb up the ladder a bit quicker.
Your Content Plan
One thing about me is that I love skincare and all things beauty. Since I was 15, I’ve gathered little tips and tricks to perfect my skin. Throughout all four years of high school, I played water polo and swam, but I started noticing that my skin was becoming rough. That’s when my skincare journey truly began. As simple as it sounds, my first step was using a big 32 fl oz bottle of cherry blossom-scented Jergens lotion. It’s not that I never applied lotion before–the issue was that I simply didn’t prioritize skincare until high school when the constant exposure to chlorine left my skin dry and flaky.
Since then, I have spent most of my years perfecting my skincare routine. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve also learned and explored products that help me in every aspect of my self-care journey.
So, sit and think–what are some things you would want to share with the world? Is it your comedic personality, healthy meals, or do’s and don’ts on a first date? You chose your niche, but make it you. The best content is organic, real, and genuine.
Promotional Efforts
As we all know, creating a platform isn’t easy. So, why not start small? After posting my video, I sent my link to my family, my friends from church, and a few friends from school, which ended up being 22 people–boosting my engagement. You should watch it too!
